NCNW Presents FREE 13th Annual S.T.E.M Workshop for girls in Grades 5-10 on May 3rd

FREE 13th Annual S.T.E.M Workshop 

Saturday, May 3rd , 8 a.m. – 3 p.m.

The Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (S.T.E.M.) Program promotes and encourages young women in grades 5 through 10 to focus on their education in fields of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics, areas that under-served by women in the workforce.  By conducting workshops in the above, the young girls that participate in the program receive hands on experience in these fields for their future careers. By exposing young women to successful role models in these areas who look like them and who they could consider as potential mentors and/or resources. 

Students also have an opportunity to win prizes like laptop and printer sets to support a successful school year.

By raising the awareness of parents about various available financial assistance (scholarships, grants, work programs, etc.) to help fund their children’s college education, the STEM program also helps encourage parents to get an early start on planning for their children’s future education.

The Workshop also includes a Parents' Component to provide attendees with information about various financial assistance fund their children’s college education, as well as other important information to help ensure their students success.
